Soul Food

For centuries people have been drinking and eating foods that were thought to be good for their souls.  Today, we realize that there are certain benefits to one’s inner self from practicing healthy nutrition.  Here are some recipes guaranteed to make you feel better from the inside out.

 

 

What you need:

Rinse fresh organic escorale, and spinach
1 can of organic sauce
1 can of organic stewed tomatoes
Small onion (chopped up)
4-5 garlic cloves (chopped up)
3 TBL of extra virgin olive oil
1 can each of Eden pinto and white beans
Chop 1 or 2 sweet banana peppers
1/2 tsp sea salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper
Pinch of cayenne pepper
1 TBL of basil, 1 TBL of parsley

 

 

 

Beans and Greens

 

 

What you do:

Take a large, deep frying pan, add a 1/2 cup of water and olive oil.
When the oil heats up, stir in chopped onions, garlic and sweet peppers.  Stir until fully cooked.

Add cans of tomatoes and beans, as well as rest of ingredients (except the greens). Stir and cook for about 10 minutes.

Add greens and cook for another 10 minutes.

Serve with whole grain crackers.

What you do:

Use all organic ingredients.

Let green tea bag soak in one cup of hot water.
Put all ingredients in blender and mix with tea.

Makes one cup of warm green tea, so repeat this throughout the day!

What you need:

Use all organic ingredients.
Put tea and ingredients in blender:

Small nugget of fresh ginger,
One lemon, squeeze the juice and grate the peel .
One TBL manuka or raw honey.
1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper.
3 fresh garlic cloves. (First chop them and let them sit for a few minutes.)
